WhatsApp unveils two new Android features

City (Lord Media): WhatsApp has announced the introduction of two new features for Android users. According to a report by Wabetainfo, these features include a tracking portal and chat backup management, currently being tested in the beta version.

The tracking portal feature will allow users to see which of their contacts are online, indicated by a green dot. Users will also have the option to hide their online status through privacy settings. This feature resembles the online indicators found on Facebook and Instagram.

The report states that WhatsApp is also testing a backup management section, which will help users view, delete, and duplicate past backups, thereby clearing storage space. This feature is still in its early stages and is not yet available to beta users, but a Google Drive storage shortcut will be included in the future.
