ISLAMABAD (Lord Media): The country has witnessed a significant increase in remittances, prompting the Prime Minister to commend overseas Pakistanis. In July 2026, remittances amounted to 3.6 billion U.S. dollars, marking a 13% year-on-year and 4.5% month-on-month increase.
The majority of these remittances originated from Saudi Arabia, totaling 913.9 million U.S. dollars, with the UAE, UK, and USA also being key contributors. The Prime Minister stated that overseas Pakistanis play a vital role in stabilizing the national economy.
Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif welcomed the rise in remittances, appreciating the continuous positive contribution of overseas Pakistanis to the country’s economic stability and growth. He emphasized that these Pakistanis are a valuable part of the national economic mainstream.
