JAKARTA (Lord Media): A forest fire surrounding Mount Bromo in East Java, Indonesia, has entered its eighth day, consuming 1,285 acres of land. The blaze was reported within the Bromo Tengger Semeru National Park in Probolinggo Regency’s Sumber District. Head of Probolinggo Disaster Mitigation Agency, Umer Sajrif, stated that the initially small fire has significantly spread.
Firefighting teams are conducting ground and aerial operations to control the blaze. Three helicopters have been deployed for water sprinkling, specifically in areas where rugged terrain poses challenges for ground crews. Firefighters are also utilizing water tankers and drones.
