Bollywood star Aamir Khan has played a key creative role in his son Junaid Khan’s upcoming romantic film Ek Din, rewriting its climax after expressing reservations over the original ending.
Filmmaker Mansoor Khan revealed in a recent interview that Aamir was not satisfied with the film’s conclusion and proposed changes, which were later accepted by the entire team. He described the process as a strong example of collaborative filmmaking.
The film stars Junaid Khan alongside Sai Pallavi, who is set to make her Bollywood debut with the project. Directed by Sunil Pandey, the film is being produced under Aamir Khan Productions, in collaboration with Mansoor Khan and Aparna Purohit.
Mansoor Khan, who has previously worked with Aamir Khan on iconic films such as Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak and Jo Jeeta Wohi Sikandar, said that while creative differences did arise during the filmmaking process, they were resolved in a constructive manner.
He also recalled an instance during the shooting of a song in Japan where Aamir suggested an emotional shift in the scene. However, the director’s vision was followed at the time, and Aamir later agreed with the final outcome after seeing the completed sequence.
Ek Din is a remake of the 2016 Thai film One Day and is scheduled for theatrical release on May 1, 2026.
