Pakistan women’s national cricket team defeated Zimbabwe women’s national cricket team by a massive margin of 153 runs in the first T20 International of the three-match series in Karachi.
Batting first, Pakistan women posted a record-breaking total of 237 runs for the loss of five wickets in their allotted 20 overs, marking their highest-ever score in Women’s T20 International cricket.
Star batter Ayesha Zafar led the charge with a sensational unbeaten 102 runs off just 47 balls, smashing 15 fours and two sixes. With the innings, she also became the fastest Pakistani batter to score a century in Women’s T20Is.
Aliya Riaz contributed a quick 48 runs from 23 deliveries, while Gull Feroza added 37 runs to strengthen Pakistan’s dominant total.
In reply, Zimbabwe women struggled throughout the chase and were bowled out for 84 runs in 18.2 overs. Natasha Tomba scored 24 runs, while Adel Zimunu made 18.
Pakistan captain Fatima Sana claimed three wickets, while Sadia Iqbal and Natalia Pervaiz picked up two wickets each.
With the emphatic win, Pakistan women took a 1-0 lead in the three-match T20I series.
