Pakistan women record historic 8-0 win in FIFA series

The Pakistan Women’s National Football Team created history in the FIFA Series by thrashing the Turks and Caicos Islands Women’s National Football Team 8-0 in a one-sided encounter.

It marks the biggest victory in Pakistan women’s football history, surpassing their previous 7-0 win over Maldives in September 2022.

Pakistan made a dominant start, with four different players finding the net in the first half. Zahmena Malik opened the scoring, followed by goals from Aqsa Mushtaq, Leela Banaras and Maryam Mahmood to give the team a commanding lead.

The second half saw continued dominance as Nadia Khan scored with a header to make it 5-0. Aqsa added her second goal of the match, while Leela also completed her brace. Isra Khan sealed the emphatic victory with the eighth goal in the 81st minute.

Following the historic win, Pakistan Football Federation President Mohsen Gilani congratulated the team and coaching staff, terming the result the beginning of a new era for women’s football in the country.

He expressed hope that the team would continue its impressive performance throughout the FIFA Series.
