The Election Tribunal has dismissed a petition challenging the electoral victory of Federal Minister for Information Ataullah Tarar from NA-127 in the general elections.
According to details, the petition was filed by Malik Zaheer Abbas Khokhar, who had contested the minister’s win. However, the tribunal declared the plea false, non-maintainable, and without merit.
During the proceedings, the petitioner sought multiple adjournments and repeatedly requested delays in hearings but failed to present any substantial evidence in support of his claims.
Barrister Haris Azmat appeared before the tribunal representing Ataullah Tarar.
Citing the absence of credible evidence and the non-maintainability of the petition, the tribunal dismissed the electoral challenge. Syed Tauseef Shah, Political Coordinator to the Prime Minister, was also present during the hearing.
