Supply of diesel and jet fuel from Kuwait via Pakistani vessels has been restored, ensuring the availability of aviation fuel and reducing the likelihood of additional airfare burdens on passengers.
According to sources, Iran has provided a safe route for Pakistani oil cargo, allowing a limited number of shipments to pass through. Around 20 tankers are expected to arrive in phases, while Kuwait is set to supply one to two tankers daily.
Officials said the existing 50-year supply agreement with Kuwait remains in effect, although no new agreement has been finalised. Pakistan has also continued to receive monthly oil shipments from Saudi Arabia ranging between three to five cargoes, and from the United Arab Emirates between two to four cargoes.
The restoration of supply is expected to ease pressure on the electricity, diesel, and transport sectors, reducing the risk of shortages and ensuring that public demand remains unaffected.
Energy and aviation sector experts suggest that with continued supply and necessary reforms, price stability may be maintained in the near term.
