PESHAWAR (Lord Media): Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Suhail Afridi, made a surprise visit to University Town Police Station late at night without any protocol. He inspected various sections of the station and met with detainees to understand their issues.
The Chief Minister interacted with the police officers stationed at the station, gaining insight into their professional duties, working conditions, and challenges faced.
CM Suhail Afridi emphasized that police stations are the first point of justice and protection for the public, and every citizen should be given respect, convenience, and immediate access. He stressed ensuring the dignity, legal rights, and constitutional treatment of detainees.
He stated that every citizen visiting the police station should be treated courteously, and complaints should be addressed promptly and effectively.
Afridi mentioned that in line with the founding vision of PTI, providing dignified, transparent, and impartial justice is a fundamental responsibility of state institutions. Protecting the rights of the weak and vulnerable and ensuring equal justice is the true strength of the state, according to the concept of the State of Madinah.
The Chief Minister further stated that the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government will continue all necessary measures to promote people-friendly, accountable, and service-based policing.
