Fuel supply to Lahore pumps cut by 50%

LAHORE (Lord Media): The Central Punjab Petroleum Dealers Association President, Chaudhry Nauman Majeed, stated that oil marketing companies have restricted fuel supply to petrol pumps. According to his statement, only 50% of the fuel demand was met in the city today due to a rise in global crude oil prices.

He further mentioned that the supply shortage has affected 90% of petrol pumps in rural areas and 50% in urban areas. On the other hand, oil marketing companies claim that supply disruptions are due to delays in customs clearance.

The companies have appealed to OGRA to ensure fuel availability nationwide. They argue that the current system of daily price changes for petroleum products is impractical and unsuitable for the public or businesses.

In the global market, Brent crude oil prices increased by 0.4%, reaching 85.28 U.S. dollars per barrel, while WTI prices rose by 0.5% to 80.02 U.S. dollars per barrel.
