DASU (Lord Media): A 22-year-old woman and a police officer were allegedly killed over suspicions of a relationship in Dasu, Upper Kohistan, according to police officials.
Police said the woman’s family suspected her of having ties with the officer. The woman was allegedly shot dead by her husband, father, brother, and four others, while the police officer was reportedly called to the area, assaulted, and killed with a sharp weapon.
Officials said the police officer had recently gotten married. As the families of both victims declined to register a complaint, police lodged a case against seven suspects on their own behalf and launched an investigation.
The incident has once again raised concerns over honour-based violence in the region, where allegations and suspicions have sometimes resulted in fatal attacks.
