Record 17-time world champion John Cena has announced his return to WWE just three months after retiring from in-ring competition, confirming he will appear at WrestleMania 42.
In a video message shared on social media platform X, Cena revealed that he will not be competing this time but will instead take on the role of host at the marquee wrestling event.
Speaking in the video, Cena said his journey after retirement has been different, but he is now ready to return to WWE with a new responsibility. He noted that an event as grand as WrestleMania requires a strong host, adding that he is prepared to take on the role.
WWE also confirmed the development, hailing Cena as “The Goat” and promising fans a memorable spectacle at WrestleMania 42.
Earlier, Cena had hinted at working on a new role within the company following his retirement. The veteran officially stepped away from in-ring action in December last year after his final match.
