Shuja Haider reveals working with Shreya Ghoshal in Indian film

Renowned Pakistani music director and singer Shuja Haider has revealed that he worked with Indian playback singer Shreya Ghoshal on the song “Tera Woh Pyar” for the 2008 Indian film Ru Ba Ru.

Speaking during a recent appearance on a private TV Podcast, Shuja Haider opened up about his professional journey and shared details of his experience working in Bollywood. He said that he, along with his partners Faisal and Bilal, was offered the project and was asked to travel to India to record the song with Shreya Ghoshal.

Recalling the time, he said that he readily agreed to the opportunity, adding that Shreya Ghoshal was relatively new to the industry back then but possessed exceptional singing talent. He noted that at the time she had gained recognition mainly through songs like “Piya Basanti Re” and tracks aired on music channels such as MTV.

Shuja Haider further said that there was a perception in India that Pakistani artists mainly produced pop music, which he described as inaccurate. He emphasized that Pakistani musicians have always explored a wide range of musical genres beyond pop.

He also praised Shreya Ghoshal’s vocal abilities, stating that her live singing experience is far more captivating than recorded or televised performances.
