Courtney Walsh arrives in Pakistan for PSL coaching role

Former West Indies fast bowling great Courtney Walsh has arrived in Pakistan to take up his responsibilities in the 11th edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL), adding further star power to the tournament.

The upcoming season of the PSL is set to feature not only leading international players but also several legendary cricketers serving in coaching roles, enhancing the competitive and technical standards of the league.

Walsh, who was regarded as a symbol of fear for batsmen during the 1980s and 1990s, will serve as the bowling coach of Rawalpindies.

Upon his arrival, he was warmly received by team captain Mohammad Rizwan and former Pakistan wicketkeeper Rashid Latif.

Meanwhile, the PSL 2026 season is set to begin on Thursday, with the opening match scheduled at Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore. Defending champions Lahore Qalandars will face Hyderabad Kingsmen in what promises to be an exciting curtain-raiser.
