Karachi kings upbeat as warner takes charge

Karachi Kings pacer Mir Hamza has termed the appointment of David Warner as captain a positive development for the team ahead of the upcoming Pakistan Super League season.

Speaking to media during a practice match against Rawalpindi team in Lahore, Mir Hamza expressed confidence in the squad, saying Karachi Kings have assembled a strong combination for the tournament.

He said the team needed match practice before the start of the event and added that the practice session proved beneficial in preparing the players for competitive cricket.

The left-arm pacer noted that all franchises have built balanced sides, predicting a highly competitive tournament this season.

Mir Hamza further said Warner’s leadership would provide a valuable opportunity for the players to grow and perform under an experienced international captain. He also welcomed the inclusion of Agha Salman in the Karachi Kings squad, terming it a useful addition.

Commenting on playing conditions, he said weather always plays a role but professional cricketers are required to adapt to all situations. He added that with most matches scheduled at night, weather impact is expected to remain limited.

He emphasized that the Pakistan Super League is the country’s own league and all stakeholders should focus on its improvement and success.
