Reema fears marriage for fame in social media era

Veteran Pakistani film actress Reema Khan has expressed concern that some individuals today may consider marriage merely as a means to gain fame.

Speaking during an appearance on a private television talk show, the actress discussed various aspects of her personal life and long career in the entertainment industry.

Reema said she has been working continuously for many years and considers herself an independent and hardworking woman, adding that she remains grateful for her professional journey. However, she remarked that she feels her destiny may not include financial dependence on a man.

The actress, who is currently unmarried, said she has often believed that marriage would eventually happen at some stage in life, but that has not materialised so far.

She also voiced concern over the growing trend of short-lived marriages in the present era, particularly influenced by social media dynamics.

Reema highlighted her involvement in charitable work and food distribution initiatives, stating that she wishes to continue such efforts with the support of a life partner who shares similar values.

“I want to marry a good human being,” she said, adding that she would prefer a partner who is generous enough to support her financially so she can channel those resources into welfare activities and community service.

She further cautioned that she fears being approached by individuals seeking only publicity, noting that in the age of social media, such tendencies have become more common and she would not want to be with someone who leaves after gaining temporary fame.
