ISLAMABAD (Lord Media): The federal government has decided to utilize artificial intelligence (AI) for disease diagnosis under the Prime Minister’s Health Card Program, benefiting 200 million Pakistanis with advanced diagnostic systems. This initiative aims to enable rapid diagnosis of complex diseases, including cancer and neurological disorders.
AI systems will be implemented in 1,100 public and private hospitals, with an agreement expected next month between Alibaba Group and the Health Card Program.
Sources indicate that AI could save billions of rupees in diagnostic costs. The program will be rolled out in Islamabad, Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Balochistan, Gilgit-Baltistan, and Azad Kashmir. The Prime Minister has also invited the head of Alibaba Group to visit Pakistan.
The federal government spends 10 billion rupees annually on the Prime Minister’s Health Card, Punjab 60 billion, Balochistan 10 billion rupees, while Khyber Pakhtunkhwa spends over 40 billion rupees annually on the Sehat Sahulat Card.
