Quetta (Lord Media): The Balochistan government has imposed a complete ban on corporal punishment in both public and private schools. The provincial education department has issued an official notification in this regard. According to the notification, teachers and educational institutions violating this ban will face departmental and legal action. The education department has made it clear that violence or physical punishment against students will not be tolerated under any circumstances.
The notification further stated that recent incidents of corporal punishment have been reported in some educational institutions, which are against children’s fundamental rights and the educational environment. The education department has instructed school administrations to ensure a safe, respectful, and positive educational environment for students.
According to the education department, the aim of this decision is to protect students’ rights, ensure their mental and physical health, and promote a reformative and educational system in schools.
