Apple hints at price hike for iPhone, iPad

California (Lord Media): Apple has indicated a potential increase in prices for its products, including the iPhone, Mac, and iPad. The company’s CEO, Tim Cook, stated that rising production costs have made price hikes inevitable.

In an interview with a leading financial publication, Cook explained that the increased cost of memory and storage chips has prevented the company from selling at previous prices. These chips are essential for smartphones, tablets, and laptops.

Other companies like OnePlus and Nothing have already raised their prices, but Apple had refrained from doing so for a long time. Cook admitted that raising prices is now beyond their control.

The reason behind this is the growing demand for chips in artificial intelligence projects worldwide, leading to a reduced supply and increased prices.

Cook mentioned the need to bring memory prices to a reasonable level to keep product prices affordable for the general public. The company has not yet specified which products will be affected first, but Macs and iPads are likely candidates.

In September, Apple is set to introduce the iPhone 18 series, which may include the first foldable iPhone. To maintain profitability, a price increase for the Pro models is possible.
