Pakistan marks one year of ‘Marka-e-Haq’ in US

Pakistan’s Ambassador to the United States Rizwan Saeed Sheikh has said that India paid a heavy price for misinterpreting Pakistan’s desire for peace as weakness, as the country marked the completion of one year of “Marka-e-Haq.”

A ceremony was held at the Pakistani Embassy in Washington to commemorate what officials described as a historic victory, with tributes paid to both civilian and military leadership for providing strong and effective guidance during what was termed Indian aggression.

Speaking at the event, Ambassador Rizwan Saeed Sheikh said Pakistan’s commitment to peace has always remained central to its foreign policy and regional stability efforts.

He also expressed gratitude to former U.S. President Donald Trump for his role in facilitating a ceasefire between the two nuclear-armed countries.

Members of the Pakistani diaspora attended the ceremony in large numbers, chanting patriotic slogans and presenting national songs in support of the country.

Separately, a similar commemorative event was held in New York, where Pakistan’s Consul General Aamir Ahmed Atozai described “Marka-e-Haq” as a decisive chapter in Pakistan’s history.

Pakistan’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations Asim Iftikhar Ahmad also said that in the past year, Pakistan has emerged more prominently on the global stage, adding that the country is playing a constructive role in promoting international stability.

In remarks to Geo News in New York, he said Pakistan’s diplomatic voice is being heard more seriously worldwide, and noted growing international attention on Pakistan’s engagement in regional diplomatic efforts, including Iran–U.S. talks.
