Veteran Pakistani actor Aurangzeb Leghari has made surprising remarks about senior actor Firdous Jamal, saying that although many people consider him difficult, he is often proven right.
Aurangzeb Leghari, who has spent more than six decades in Pakistan’s television and film industry, shared his views during a recent conversation while speaking about his longtime colleague.
He said people had never fully understood Firdous Jamal and added that many individuals referred to him as “crazy,” including himself, but maintained that the actor’s opinions were correct on most occasions.
According to Leghari, Firdous Jamal frequently got into disagreements and arguments with fellow artists, yet “90 per cent of the time” his stance eventually turned out to be justified.
The veteran actor further said that Firdous Jamal never learned that remaining silent at certain moments was also important, adding that constantly confronting others could damage a person’s public image.
He remarked that this was one of the reasons why Firdous Jamal is now widely perceived as having a difficult personality within showbiz circles.
It is worth mentioning that Aurangzeb Leghari and Firdous Jamal had previously worked together in the classic Pakistani drama Waris, which remains one of the most celebrated serials in the country’s television history.
