Bangladesh veteran batter Mushfiqur Rahim has surpassed former Pakistan captain Imran Khan in the list of longest Test careers among Asian cricketers.
According to media reports, Mushfiqur achieved the milestone after featuring in the ongoing Test match against Pakistan.
The Bangladeshi batter’s Test career now spans 20 years and 351 days, making him the second Asian player with the longest Test career.
Former Indian captain Sachin Tendulkar still tops the list with a Test career lasting 24 years and one day.
Following Mushfiqur’s latest achievement, Imran Khan has slipped to third place among Asian cricketers with the longest Test careers, having represented Pakistan in Test cricket for 20 years and 218 days.
It is pertinent to mention that Mushfiqur Rahim is also the only Bangladeshi cricketer to have played 100 Test matches for his country.
