Former Pakistan captain Azhar Ali has joined the Scotland national cricket team in a consultancy role ahead of the team’s upcoming international assignments.
According to a statement issued by Cricket Scotland, Azhar Ali has been appointed as consultant for Scotland’s tour of Nepal.
Scotland’s next assignment will be the ICC Cricket World Cup League Two, where the team will face Nepal and the USA.
Speaking on his appointment, Azhar Ali said he was looking forward to working with the Scotland side and helping the talented squad progress further.
The former Pakistan skipper also said he had links with Scotland from the early days of his cricket career and was excited to begin the new role.
