Rajpal Yadav breaks silence on cheque case

Bollywood actor Rajpal Yadav has opened up about his cheque bounce case, saying the matter has been widely misunderstood and is not merely about repayment of money.

Speaking during a recent podcast appearance, the actor clarified that his legal troubles were not due to a lack of funds but rather a matter of principle. “It was not about not having money, it was about a stand,” he said.

Yadav explained that if the issue had only involved Rs50 million, it could have been resolved as early as 2012. However, he claimed the situation escalated significantly, leading to financial losses far beyond the initial amount.

He revealed that around Rs120 million had already been spent on the film project in question, with the total budget reaching approximately Rs220 million.

Responding to allegations of fraud, the actor said failure in film projects should not be equated with dishonesty. He noted that many ventures in the film industry fail despite sincere efforts.

“I have full faith in the law, and I believe the matter will eventually be resolved,” he added.
