Pakistan urges parties to uphold ceasefire, vows to facilitate

Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar has urged all parties to uphold the ceasefire, reaffirming that Pakistan will continue to play its role in promoting dialogue and engagement between Iran and the United States.

According to the Foreign Office, Ishaq Dar said during a media briefing in Islamabad that he, along with Chief of Army Staff, Field Marshal Asim Munir, facilitated a series of tough but constructive negotiations between the two sides, which continued for 24 hours and concluded earlier in the day.

He thanked both parties for acknowledging Pakistan’s mediation efforts and their commitment toward achieving a ceasefire.
The foreign minister expressed hope that the positive spirit demonstrated during the talks would continue, paving the way for sustainable peace and prosperity in the region and beyond.

Dar emphasized the importance of all sides remaining committed to the ceasefire, calling it essential for maintaining stability.
He reiterated that Pakistan will continue its efforts in the coming days to facilitate dialogue and communication between Iran and the United States.

The deputy prime minister also thanked both countries for responding positively to Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif call for an immediate ceasefire in the region and for accepting his invitation to hold peace talks in Islamabad.
