71-member Iranian delegation arrives in Pakistan for high-stakes U.S. talks

Details of the Iranian delegation arriving in Pakistan for crucial talks with the United States have emerged, with reports indicating that the delegation comprises 71 members.

According to Iranian state media, the delegation includes not only negotiators but also technical experts, advisory committees, security personnel and media representatives, aimed at ensuring comprehensive support during the sensitive and complex negotiations.

The delegation is being led by Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, while Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi is also part of the team as a key member.

The report noted that the talks between Iran and the United States are of a highly sensitive nature, which is why specialized technical teams have been included to provide real-time consultation on various issues.

On the other hand, the U.S. delegation will be led by Vice President JD Vance, with Special Envoy Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner, son-in-law of former President Donald Trump, also participating in the negotiations.

Sources further revealed that a 15-point proposal from the Trump administration is under consideration, which includes assurances from Iran on not developing nuclear weapons, the handover of enriched uranium, potential restrictions on defense capabilities, and reopening of the Strait of Hormuz.

The negotiations are being viewed as highly significant in the context of evolving regional dynamics, with Islamabad emerging as a key venue for high-level diplomatic engagement.
