Iran enters talks with “complete distrust” of U.S: FM Araghchi

Abbas Araghchi has said that Iran is entering negotiations with the United States with “complete distrust,” citing repeated violations of commitments by Washington.

According to reports, the Iranian foreign minister conveyed these remarks during a telephonic conversation with his German counterpart, where the two sides discussed ongoing diplomatic developments and regional tensions.

Araghchi stated that Iran remains fully capable of defending the interests and rights of its people, emphasizing that Tehran would approach the talks with caution and resolve.

He underscored that the lack of trust stems from what he described as repeated breaches of promises by the United States, which have shaped Iran’s current stance on negotiations.

The Iranian foreign minister reiterated that safeguarding national interests would remain the top priority during any engagement, while signaling a firm approach in the dialogue process.

The remarks come amid renewed diplomatic efforts aimed at addressing long-standing disputes.
