Pakistani showbiz personalities have praised the government for its role in facilitating a ceasefire between the United States and Iran following weeks of escalating tensions.
According to reports, Pakistan played a key role in backchannel diplomacy aimed at halting the conflict and restoring stability, as fears of a wider global confrontation had intensified.
The development has been widely appreciated both domestically and internationally, with members of Pakistan’s entertainment industry commending the country’s efforts as a peacemaker.
Among them, actor Ahsan Khan shared a video message, expressing satisfaction over the ceasefire and describing it as “very good news.”
He appreciated Pakistan’s contribution to promoting global peace and congratulated the nation, particularly the government, for achieving what he termed a significant diplomatic success.
Ahsan Khan further urged unity among citizens and expressed hope that the country would continue to play a constructive role on the international stage.
Celebrities and public figures also welcomed the halt in hostilities, noting that a prolonged conflict could have drawn the world into a wider crisis.
It is pertinent to mention that, following the ceasefire announcement by the US president, Iran agreed to reopen the strategically important Strait of Hormuz for two weeks, ensuring the continuation of global oil supplies.
Meanwhile, senior leadership from the United States and Iran is expected to hold talks in Islamabad on April 10 as part of ongoing diplomatic efforts.
