Former captain Tamim Iqbal has been appointed as the new president of the Bangladesh Cricket Board following a major overhaul by the government.
According to details, the Bangladesh government dissolved the existing board and formed a new setup, removing Aminul Islam Bulbul from his position. An interim committee has been tasked with conducting fresh elections within the next 90 days.
The move is being seen as part of broader efforts to reform cricket governance in the country and improve international relations.
Reports suggest that Aminul Islam Bulbul’s removal was linked to issues surrounding the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup and ongoing administrative disputes.
Bangladesh is also reportedly working towards restoring bilateral cricket ties with India as part of its wider cricketing strategy.
Meanwhile, Aminul Islam has once again denied allegations of interference in BCB elections, rejecting any involvement in irregularities.
