Pakistani actor and television host Nida Yasir has said that social media trolling is rarely related to professional work and is mostly focused on individuals’ appearance and personal traits.
Speaking on her morning show, where she recently hosted actor Junaid Khan, Nida Yasir addressed the issue of online criticism, a subject she has often faced throughout her career.
With a following of around 2.6 million on social media, the host acknowledged that even minor mistakes tend to go viral, attracting widespread negative commentary. She noted that such trolling is often unrelated to one’s work and instead targets physical appearance, age, or personal style.
During the discussion, she pointed out that users frequently make remarks questioning appearance, such as body shape or hair loss, reflecting what she described as a pattern of personal attacks rather than constructive criticism.
She further suggested that a segment of social media users repeatedly engage in negative commentary, implying dissatisfaction in their own lives.
On the same platform, Junaid Khan shared a contrasting perspective, stating that he avoids reading negative comments altogether. He added that ignoring such remarks helps maintain focus, while also acknowledging that public feedback can sometimes be valid and worth considering for self-improvement.
