The federal government has decided to introduce a quota-based system for the allocation of petroleum products as part of a new digital rationing mechanism.
According to official sources, a mobile application is being developed under the proposed framework to facilitate fuel distribution and monitoring across the country.
Under the system, citizens will be required to download the app and register by entering their vehicle number along with their national identity card details.
Sources said the government will assign petroleum quotas to individuals based on their assessed needs and available supply, aiming to ensure regulated and efficient distribution of fuel resources.
