Naqvi hosts reception for PSL 11 players in Lahore

Chairman Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Mohsin Naqvi hosted a special reception in honour of local and international cricketers assembled for the Pakistan Super League (PSL) Season 11, reaffirming the league’s growing global stature.

The ceremony, held in Lahore, brought together franchise owners, team captains, national players and foreign recruits. The PCB chief warmly welcomed the participants and distinguished guests.

During the event, the PSL 11 trophy was unveiled while the official anthem of the tournament was also launched, adding momentum ahead of the league.

Addressing the gathering, Mohsin Naqvi said that in view of the regional situation, PSL 11 had been streamlined keeping national interests in mind. He apologised to cricket fans for the changes, stating that the broader interest of the country must come first and expressing hope that the present compromise would yield future ease.

He maintained that the PSL has emerged as a top international brand and reiterated the board’s commitment to taking it to greater heights.

The ceremony was attended by prominent international players including Sikandar Raza, Ravi Bopara, Tabraiz Shamsi and Tim Paine, among others.

Political figures present on the occasion included Muhammad Aurangzeb, Attaullah Tarar, Salik Hussain, Ali Pervaiz Malik, Speaker Punjab Assembly Malik Muhammad Ahmad Khan, Senior Provincial Minister Maryam Aurangzeb, Shafay Hussain, Talha Burki, Attorney General Mansoor Awan and former federal minister Gohar Ejaz.

Franchise officials, the head coach of the national side and players from across PSL teams also attended the ceremony, marking a formal beginning to the tournament activities.
