The Central Power Purchasing Agency (CPPA) has submitted a request to increase electricity tariffs.
According to the application, the CPPA has proposed a hike of Rs 1.64 per unit under the February fuel price adjustment mechanism. The agency reported that 742.7 million units of electricity were supplied to distribution companies in February.
The National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) will hold a hearing on the CPPA request on March 31. Any decision by NEPRA will be applicable to consumers nationwide, including K-Electric.
