IHC adjourns travel ban petitions of Rajab Butt, Nadeem Naniwala

No progress was made in the Islamabad High Court regarding the petitions of TikToker and YouTuber Rajab Butt and Nadeem Naniwala seeking removal of their names from the travel ban list, as the court adjourned the hearing until March 26.

The hearing took place before Justice Azam Khan, with counsel for the petitioners, Barristers Raja Qadeer Janjua and Ahad Khokhar, present in court. During proceedings, the government failed to submit a response and requested additional time.

Petitioners’ lawyer informed the court that the travel ban was affecting their visas, prompting Justice Khan to inquire about the expiration dates. It was clarified that one visa would expire in March while the other would lapse later. When asked why the government had not filed a reply despite the visa deadlines, the government’s counsel requested a post-Eid date to submit the response.

Justice Khan observed that given the urgency related to the expiring visas, the matter should be heard immediately after Eid, and the court accordingly adjourned the case until March 26.
