Eid 2026 promises cinematic and TV treats for Pakistani audiences

Pakistani audiences are in for a cinematic and television feast this Eid-ul-Fitr 2026, with a lineup of highly anticipated films set to release in theaters alongside several major world television premieres. After years of challenges and setbacks in the local film industry, particularly in the post-COVID era, this year’s Eid promises a revival, offering entertainment for family audiences across the country.

Among the cinema releases, Aag Lagi Basti Mein is a comedy-action film starring Fahad Mustafa, Maira Khan, and legendary actor Javed Sheikh, with comedian Tabish Hashmi making his acting debut. The film has been heavily promoted and is expected to perform strongly at the box office. Another highlight is Bulla, which marks the return of Shan Shahid to the silver screen. The film revolves around a character striving to bring justice to the oppressed. Delhi Gate, featuring Javed Sheikh, Shamoon Abbasi, Yasir Khan, and Roma Michael, is also set to be a major Eid release, promising a thrilling cinematic experience.

Television audiences will also be treated to premieres of popular films. Loru, a romantic comedy starring Maira Khan and Humayun Saeed, originally released last year, will make its TV debut and is ideal for family viewing. Nilofar, starring Fawad Khan, returns to television screens, giving fans a special opportunity to watch the film despite its modest box office performance. Additionally, The Legend of Mola Jatt, Pakistan’s highest-grossing film featuring Fawad Khan, Hamza Ali Abbasi, Maira Khan, and Humaima Malik, will have its world television premiere during Eid, allowing viewers another chance to enjoy its blockbuster performances.

The diverse lineup of films this Eid highlights the vibrant resurgence of Pakistan’s entertainment industry, promising audiences across the country a mix of laughter, action, and drama both on the big screen and at home.
