Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar has confirmed his participation in the latest installment of the popular comedy franchise Golmaal, as director Rohit Shetty announced the sequel on his 52nd birthday.
The announcement includes the return of Sherman Joshi, one of the original trio from the first film, alongside Ajay Devgn, Arshad Warsi, Shreyas Talpade, Tusshar Kapoor, and Kunal Khemu. A teaser video featuring the ensemble cast was also released, giving fans a glimpse of the upcoming film.
The Golmaal franchise has been entertaining audiences for more than two decades, with the first film releasing in 2006. On March 14, Akshay Kumar shared a video on his social media accounts showing behind-the-scenes moments from the set and his new look for the film.
Alongside the clip, he wrote, “Happy Birthday Rohit! On your special day, this madness just got bigger and louder. Excited to be part of the crazy Golmaal 5 family. Let the fun begin!”
The video shows the cast and crew busy during shooting, confirming that production has officially started. Sherman Joshi is seen reprising his iconic role, revisiting memories from the earlier films with the rest of the cast.
Akshay Kumar makes a surprise entrance in the video, joining the ensemble for the new chapter of the comedy series. Reports indicate that he has allocated 18 days from his busy schedule to shoot for Golmaal 5.
In addition to the Golmaal sequel, Akshay Kumar is also preparing for the release of his upcoming supernatural horror-comedy Bhoot Bangla, marking another collaboration with director Priya Darshan.
