Pakistani singer and actor Umair Jaswal has sparked fresh discussion on social media after sharing a message widely interpreted as confirming that he had been betrayed in a past relationship.
Jaswal, known for his powerful performances in Coke Studio songs such as “Charkha Nolakha” and “Sammi Meri Waar,” is regarded as one of the country’s versatile artists, with contributions in both music and acting.
Apart from his music career, he has also appeared in film projects including Moor and Yalghaar.
Jaswal married Pakistani actress Sana Javed in 2020 during the COVID-19 lockdown in a simple ceremony. The couple was frequently seen together at public events following their marriage.
However, after nearly a year of silence regarding their relationship, former Pakistan cricket captain Shoaib Malik and Sana Javed announced their marriage in January 2024, surprising many fans as both were believed to be married to their respective spouses at the time.
Following the announcement, allegations of infidelity surfaced against both Malik and Javed. Recently, Jaswal appeared to indirectly confirm the situation through a post shared on Instagram.
In the post, he shared a quote about partners who cheat, stating that people who betray their partners should not expect to remain part of someone’s life and that such behaviour should not be normalised.
Reports suggest that Jaswal himself may have experienced betrayal in a relationship. Many fans responded to his message online, supporting his stance and stressing that infidelity should be condemned at all levels and should not be accepted in society.
