Indian television actress Ridhima Pandit has dismissed rumours linking her with Indian cricket team captain Shubman Gill, clarifying that she does not even know the cricketer personally.
Rumours about relationships between cricketers and film or television celebrities often spread rapidly on social media, and similar speculation had recently emerged regarding Ridhima Pandit and Shubman Gill.
According to Indian media reports, several social media posts and online reports over the past few months claimed that the actress and the cricketer were dating.
Some claims went even further, suggesting that the two were planning to secretly marry in Jaipur in December 2024. However, Pandit has categorically rejected the reports, saying there is no truth to the rumours.
The 35-year-old actress, who gained popularity for her role as Rajni in the television show Bahu Hamari Rajni Kant, said she generally prefers to stay away from controversies.
In a recent interview, when asked about dating the Indian captain, she clarified that there was no such relationship. She said she considers herself a non-controversial person and wants to keep it that way.
Pandit added that she has never spoken ill about anyone and does not want to be part of unnecessary scandals. She also joked that she is not even someone who indulges in romance off-screen, describing herself as a rather “boring person.”
The actress, who also appeared in the film Sikandar Ka Muqaddar, had earlier addressed the rumours in another interview, saying she does not personally know Shubman Gill.
She said that while she considers him a talented sportsperson, she has never met him.
“If I ever meet him, we will probably laugh about these rumours,” she remarked, adding that although he seems “cute,” there is no such relationship.
The 26-year-old cricketer has frequently been the subject of speculation about his personal life on social media. In the past, he has also been linked with Sara Tendulkar, daughter of cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar, as well as Bollywood actress Sara Ali Khan, daughter of actor Saif Ali Khan.
