The Afghanistan cricket team and Sri Lanka cricket team will no longer play their scheduled white-ball series in the United Arab Emirates due to escalating regional tensions.
The Afghanistan Cricket Board had originally planned the series from March 13 to 25, 2026, but announced that the matches will now be rescheduled to later this year.
According to the ACB, logistical challenges arising from the current situation in the Middle East necessitated the postponement.
The series was to include three T20 matches on March 13, 15, and 17 at Sharjah Cricket Stadium, followed by three One Day Internationals on March 20, 22, and 25 in Dubai.
The ACB emphasized that the safety of players and staff is the top priority and said a revised schedule would be announced in due course.
