Making his Pakistan national cricket team debut, Maaz Sadaqat became visibly emotional on the field, shedding tears while remembering his mother.
Speaking after his first One Day International match, Sadaqat said, “In difficult times, my mother told me that our good days would come. Today, that day has arrived.” He credited his family for their constant support and revealed that fellow cricketer Shaheen Afridi personally called to inform him about his selection.
Meanwhile, Shamil Hussain, another debutant in the match, described his inclusion in the national team as “like a dream.” He said it took him an entire day to fully absorb the reality of being selected. Hussain credited his experience in domestic cricket for building his confidence and refining his skills.
The first ODI against Bangladesh saw four Pakistani cricketers making their international debut as the team took to the crease, signaling a fresh wave of young talent in the squad.
