Govt issues NOC for Indian volleyball team to visit Pakistan

The federal government has issued a No Objection Certificate (NOC) to the Indian men’s volleyball team, allowing it to travel to Pakistan to participate in the Central Asian Volleyball Champi-onship under its sports diplomacy ini-tiative.

Confirming the development, Pakistan Volleyball Federation (PVF) Chairman Chaudhry Muhammad Yaqoob said the government had granted the NOC and India had been formally informed of the decision.

He expressed hope that the Indian team would arrive in Pakistan as scheduled to take part in the tournament.

The PVF chairman said the CAVA Men’s Volleyball Championship would be held in Islamabad from July 22 to 29, adding that all arrangements for the event had been finalised.

He said the championship would be one of the biggest international volley-ball events hosted by Pakistan and would provide a valuable opportunity to promote the sport in the country while enabling the national team to compete against top regional sides.

According to Chaudhry Muhammad Yaqoob, teams from 10 countries Paki-stan, India, Kazakhstan, Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Nepal, Turkmenistan, Kyrgyzstan, the Maldives and Sri Lanka will participate in the champi-onship.
