Pakistani universities fall in global rankings

Karachi (Lord Media): The global QS rankings for 2027 have been released, revealing that no Pakistani university has made it to the top 350 worldwide. However, 18 Pakistani universities are included among the top 1504 institutions globally.

According to the rankings, Quaid-i-Azam University, which was ranked 354th last year, has slipped to 381st in 2027. Similarly, the National University of Sciences and Technology (NUST) has fallen from 371st to 384th place. Punjab University has dropped from 542nd to 588th position.

The Lahore University of Management Sciences (LUMS) has declined from 555th to 608th place, while the University of Agriculture Faisalabad improved from 654th to 629th. COMSATS University Islamabad moved up from 664th to 639th position.

Sindh’s University of Karachi remains the only institution from the province to make it into the top 1500 universities, whereas no university from Balochistan is included in the rankings. Globally, the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in the United States secured the first position, and Imperial College London in the United Kingdom secured the second.
