Pakistan Women create multiple records in win over Zimbabwe

Pakistan women’s national cricket team created multiple records during their emphatic victory over Zimbabwe women’s national cricket team in the opening match of the women’s ODI series at the National Bank Stadium.

Wicketkeeper-batter Najiha Alvi registered the fastest half-century for Pakistan Women in One-Day Internationals by reaching her fifty in just 24 balls.

She broke the previous record held by Pakistan captain Fatima Sana, who had scored a half-century in 35 deliveries.

The hosts also recorded their highest-ever women’s ODI total at the National Bank Stadium after posting 330 runs for the loss of five wickets.

During the innings, Sidra Amin and Najiha Alvi stitched together a 96-run partnership for the fifth wicket, which became Pakistan Women’s third-highest fifth-wicket stand in ODI cricket.

Pakistan Women also achieved another milestone as four batters scored half-centuries in the same ODI innings for the first time in the team’s history.

Sadaf Shamas top-scored with 98 runs, while Sidra Amin made 67, Gull Feroza contributed 50 and Najiha Alvi remained unbeaten on 56.

Pakistan’s 168-run victory over Zimbabwe turned out to be the second-biggest win in the ODI history of Pakistan Women’s cricket.
