Pakistan Sports Board has announced the launch of a National Talent Identification and Verification System in a major step towards promoting merit-based sports development in the country.
According to details, the programme aims to provide young athletes across Pakistan with a transparent and structured platform to showcase their abilities at the national level.
Officials said the initiative is designed to address a long-standing gap in Pakistan’s sports system by creating equal opportunities for talented players from all regions of the country.
The programme will be open to all Pakistani citizens between the ages of 12 and 25 years.
Applications for all sports, except cricket, can be submitted through the official PSB website in both Urdu and English languages.
The Pakistan Sports Board has also announced that no fee will be charged at any stage of the process, while applications will remain open throughout the year.
Under the new system, applications will first undergo scrutiny by an independent panel of experts. Shortlisted candidates will then be referred to the relevant national sports federations for further assessment.
Physical evaluation camps will be organised in multiple cities, including Islamabad, Lahore, Karachi, Peshawar, Quetta, Muzaffarabad, Gilgit and Skardu.
