Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Barrister Gohar Ali Khan has said that Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Sohail Afridi will continue to hold office, asserting that any campaign against him will ultimately fail.
Speaking to media representatives in Peshawar, Barrister Gohar said Sohail Afridi was nominated for the position of chief minister by PTI founder Imran Khan and is currently performing his duties effectively.
He reiterated that Afridi will remain in office and described efforts to undermine him as unsuccessful attempts that would not yield results.
The PTI chairman further stated that Sohail Afridi enjoys complete support from the party leadership and denied reports of any internal split or the existence of a forward bloc within PTI.
His remarks come in the backdrop of political discussion within the party after Member National Assembly Sher Afzal Marwat announced that he would challenge the selection of Sohail Afridi as Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
