President Asif Ali Zardari witnessed the signing of a joint venture agreement and two memorandums of understanding (MoUs) between Pakistani and Chinese organisations aimed at expanding cooperation in construction machinery, animal health, and medical technology.
The agreements were signed during engagements held in Sanya, focusing on strengthening practical collaboration in key development sectors linked to economic growth and industrial cooperation.
A key MoU was signed between Al Hassan Trade Establishment, Sany Group affiliate Sany International Development, and Hainan Jiaolong International Technology. The agreement focuses on high-end equipment manufacturing, construction machinery supply, talent training systems, and after-sales services. It also includes plans to explore investment opportunities for setting up factories in Pakistan and promoting localised production under China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC)-related cooperation.
Another major agreement was signed between the Livestock & Fisheries Department of Sindh and Luoyang Modern Biology Group for the distribution of animal vaccines in Pakistan, including Foot-and-Mouth Disease vaccines. The deal also covers technology exchange and the potential introduction of animal traceability systems in the country.
A third MoU was signed between Dr Ziauddin Hospital and Shenzhen Weibang Technology to develop cooperation in medical technology. The partnership focuses on the use of medical intelligent robots and innovative healthcare solutions to support the development of Pakistan’s healthcare system.
The agreements were signed in the presence of senior Pakistani and Chinese officials, including President Zardari, Sindh Senior Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon, Senator Saleem Mandviwalla, and Pakistan’s Ambassador to China Khalil Hashmi, among others.
On the occasion, a documentary highlighting 75 years of Pakistan-China friendship was also screened, underscoring the long-standing strategic partnership between the two countries.
