Indian actress Reem Shaikh has said that she cannot imagine spending her life with someone from another religion, citing her strong religious beliefs and personal values.
According to Indian media reports, the actress shared her views on interfaith relationships during a recent interview, where she also spoke openly about love and marriage.
During the interview, the host asked Reem Shaikh whether falling in love with someone belonging to another religion could complicate matters for her. Responding candidly, the actress said she would not be able to pursue such a relationship because she considers herself deeply religious.
She said that she offers five daily prayers and has also started observing fasts regularly, adding that she does not think she could marry a man belonging to another faith.
Talking about love, Reem Shaikh said she has several reasons for struggling to believe in it completely, as she has witnessed divorce within her family and seen relationships around her fall apart.
However, the actress added that love still remains essential in life, saying that even a connection with God requires love, and without it people cannot build meaningful relationships either with the Creator or with those around them.
It is pertinent to mention that Reem Shaikh belongs to a mixed-faith family, where her mother follows Hinduism while her father is Muslim.
