Pakistani actor and host Javeria Saud has strongly criticised podcasters for revisiting past controversies involving her husband Saud and film star Meera, calling the practice unnecessary and damaging.
Meera has frequently made headlines due to statements by fellow artists. A few months ago, veteran actress and director Sangeeta sparked debate after claiming in a viral interview that Meera and Saud were in a relationship during their peak years.
She further alleged that she had seen both at Saud’s residence, a claim she later repeated in multiple podcast appearances, keeping the controversy alive for weeks.
The issue resurfaced recently when podcasters once again brought up Meera’s past and sought clarification, prompting Javeria Saud to come forward in defence of her husband.
In an Instagram post, Javeria said dragging names like Meera, Saud and Reema Khan into such discussions would not elevate anyone’s status. She emphasised that reviving old rumours could not diminish the stature or legacy of established stars.
The latest response underscores growing criticism within the entertainment industry over the trend of revisiting unverified past claims for online attention.
