China rejects reports of arms supply plans to Iran

China has strongly rejected reports suggesting that it is planning to supply weapons to Iran, dismissing such claims as baseless and urging an end to what it called “malicious linkage” and unfounded allegations, according to the Chinese foreign ministry.

At a regular press briefing on Monday, foreign ministry spokesperson Guo Jiakun said Beijing had consistently maintained a responsible and cautious approach to military exports.

He reiterated that China strictly regulates the export of military-related products in accordance with domestic laws, regulations, and international obligations.

“China opposes any groundless smears or malicious linkage,” the spokesperson said, rejecting media reports that suggested possible arms transfers to Iran.

The remarks were made during a briefing held by the Chinese Foreign Ministry in response to recent international media speculation.
