U.S. Vice President JD Vance arrives in Islamabad for key talks

A high-level U.S. delegation led by Vice President JD Vance arrived in Pakistan on Saturday to participate in the ongoing Islamabad talks.

According to the Foreign Office spokesperson, the delegation includes Special Envoy Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner.

The visiting delegation was received by Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar, Chief of Defence Forces and Chief of Army Staff Field Marshal Asim Munir, and Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi.

Welcoming the U.S. Vice President, the deputy prime minister appreciated Washington’s commitment toward achieving lasting peace and stability in the region and beyond.

He expressed hope that all parties would engage in the talks in a constructive manner, emphasizing the importance of dialogue in resolving ongoing tensions.

Pakistan also reiterated its commitment to continue facilitating both sides in pursuit of a sustainable and lasting solution to the conflict.

The arrival of the U.S. delegation marks a significant step in the high-level diplomatic engagement underway in Islamabad, with expectations of meaningful progress through dialogue.
